Job Summary:

The Web Content Manager supports the NPC Public Affairs Office by planning, developing, maintaining, and publishing official web content on NPC's public-facing and internal digital platforms (e.g., MyNavyHR website). This role ensures that web content accurately reflects NPC policies, guidance, and communication priorities and remains compliant with Department of Defense (DoD), SECNAV, and Navy public affairs standards.

  • Serve as the central point for day-to-day content operations on the NPC/Public Affairs Office website.
  • Maintain and update web pages regularly to ensure information is accurate, timely, and aligned with NPC communication objectives.
  • Manage content workflows including review, approval, publication, and revision.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, style, and compliance with Navy and DoD web standards (e.g., AFPIMS style, SECNAV policy).
  • Act as content moderator - reviewing submissions from internal stakeholders for accuracy and compliance prior to publishing.
  • Edit, revise, and rewrite web content as needed to meet quality standards and policy compliance.
  • Coordinate approval with the NPC Public Affairs Officer (PAO), legal offices, and other subject-matter experts prior to publication.
  • Ensure that content adheres to accessibility guidelines and information security policies.
  • Coordinate with content creators to source appropriate visual assets (photos, graphics, infographics).
  • Use image editing tools to prepare visuals for publication, ensuring compliance with Navy imagery policies and technical standards.
  • Maintain the website's image galleries and media libraries.
  • Act as primary technical and process support contact for internal stakeholders contributing content.
  • Troubleshoot minor CMS issues and relay complex problems to IT or the Web Content Manager's leadership.
  • Monitor and respond to user feedback received via webmaster and support channels.
  • Coordinate content contributor training on CMS tools and best practices.
  • Ensure all web content meets DoD, SECNAV, and NPC information dissemination policies before posting.
  • Maintain awareness of official web policy changes and guide web content teams in implementation.
  • Facilitate monthly or periodic content governance meetings and documentation updates.
  • Create, update, and deliver training materials and sessions for content contributors.
  • Develop internal documentation for CMS procedures, style guides, and web governance rules.
