The Vice President of Communications & Legislative Affairs will serve as a senior executive leader responsible for shaping, guiding, and executing our agency's internal and external communications. The Vice President of Communications & Legislative Affairs will also lead the organization’s legislative advocacy and government relations efforts.
Responsibilities for Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute an annual comprehensive legislative strategy that advances our agency
- mission and advocacy priorities at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Track policies, regulatory developments, and budget initiatives that impact the I/DD service
system; advise the CEO and executive leadership on implications and recommended actions.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, their staff, advocacy
organizations, and industry partners.
- Coordinate site visits, legislative meetings, advocacy events, and district office engagements.
- Represent our agency in meetings with legislators, government agencies, and advocacy partners;
- Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and strategic follow-up.
