Reporting to the Manager of Intergovernmental Relations and Strategic Policy within the Evidence, Policy, and Governance branch, you will serve as a Senior Policy Analyst and subject matter expert on labour force development. In this role, you will provide advice and prepare briefings on labour force issues, policy implications, and potential solutions for consideration by senior government officials and the Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration.
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will lead policy and project coordination, development, and facilitation across a range of cross-ministry and stakeholder initiatives. You will play a critical role in liaising with federal, provincial, and territorial (FPT) working groups, identifying issues impacting Alberta’s labour force, and developing options and recommendations. This position requires operating in a fast-paced and highly political and technical environment, applying a strong economic, environmental, cultural and social lens to analyze labour market challenges and craft briefings that support the Government of Alberta’s economic development and labour market objectives.
Your key responsibilities include conducting research, developing policy, and preparing departmental correspondence, briefing notes, concept papers, discussion documents, cabinet reports, and other materials for the Minister and Cabinet.

There is one full-time permanent position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The work location is in Edmonton.
