Description

Job Purpose

  • The role supports DP World’s Government Relations & Public Affairs agenda by delivering high quality diplomatic engagement, strategic coordination, and protocol leadership across the UAE and international markets.
  • The position strengthens DP World’s relations with foreign governments, ministries, embassies, consulates, and international delegations by ensuring exceptional representation, seamless visit management, and timely political and economic insights that support executive decision making.
  • The role also contributes to expanding DP World’s global government network, enhancing brand reputation, and enabling smooth business facilitation across key strategic markets.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with ministries, embassies, consulates, federal entities, and international government organisations.
  • Represent DP World in engagements with diplomatic and senior government stakeholders, ensuring alignment with GRPA strategies and national protocols.
  • Support leadership in high level meetings by preparing briefs, talking points, background notes, and follow-up documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate the full lifecycle of VIP and VVIP delegations including agenda design, protocol requirements, logistics, security coordination, and executive-level engagement.
  • Serve as protocol advisor for Chairman-level and C-suite level visits, ensuring all national and international protocol standards are observed.
  • Oversee the preparation of tailored visit agenda, management summaries, and strategic profiles for incoming delegations.
  • Collect, analyse, and summarise political, economic, regulatory, and risk related developments impacting DP World’s business across the UAE and priority global markets.
  • Prepare structured intelligence updates and briefing papers for senior leadership, supporting the wider GRPA intelligence ecosystem.
  • Coordinate with Group Security and relevant departments to integrate geopolitical insights into business planning.
  • Liaise with internal departments (JAFZA, Ports & Terminals, Security, Corporate Communications, Legal, people, etc.) to ensure alignment and high-quality delegation execution.
  • Act as the central focal point for government related activities within the headquarters and across regional offices.
  • Support the planning and execution of joint initiatives with government bodies, trade missions, and foreign policy partners.
  • Maintain and update delegation management tools and stakeholder databases.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for all engagements, including visit outcomes, action points, and follow up requirements.
  • Produce high level delegation outcome summaries, monthly GRPA highlight reports, and strategic progress updates.
  • Draft official letters, diplomatic correspondence, and government communication in Arabic and English.
  • Provide cultural and protocol advisory support to internal teams to enhance DP World’s image and government engagement quality.
  • Represent DP World in selected events, government functions, and external engagements as delegated by leadership.
  • Lead the coordination and execution of port and free zone familiarisation tours for government delegations and high-level stakeholders, in close collaboration with relevant team. This includes:
  • Receiving and managing official requests for visits to DP World & JAFZA.
  • Designing and delivering structured agendas that showcase DP World’s global capabilities, key infrastructure, and strategic achievements.
  • Developing customised presentations and briefings tailored to the visiting delegation’s profile and areas of interest.
  • Coordinating across internal teams (Security, Ports & Terminals, JAFZA, Communications, etc.) to ensure required clearances and seamless execution.
  • Entering each delegation request into the internal delegation management system and maintaining accurate records for visibility, planning, and reporting.
  • Tracking visit outcomes and compiling detailed delegation reports, highlighting engagement impact and recommended follow-ups.
  • Continuously enhancing the delegation experience by aligning each port tour with GRPA’s strategic engagement goals and broader government relations roadmap.

  • Promote DP World’s values, culture, and Principles across all engagements.
  • Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity in all matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the VP/SVP of GRPA.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Arabic and English fluency (written and spoken) is essential.
  • 3 to 5 years’ Experience in Government Relations, International Affairs, Protocol, or Diplomatic Engagement.
  • Experience in logistics, ports, trade, or public sector relations is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior government officials and VIP delegations.
  • Strong diplomatic and political awareness.
  • Exceptional protocol and representation skills.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality briefing notes, strategic summaries, and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Research and analytical capability; ability to summarise complex information clearly.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Confidence in handling high-pressure, fast-paced engagements.
  • High cultural sensitivity and discretion.
