A mission-driven human services organization is seeking a VP of Government Affairs & Communications to lead legislative advocacy and organizational communications. This senior leadership role advances advocacy priorities at the local, state, and federal levels while overseeing internal and external communications strategy.
Responsibilities Include:
Developing and executing an annual legislative and advocacy strategy
Tracking policy, regulatory, and budget developments impacting services
Advising executive leadership on policy implications and actions
Building relationships with elected officials, advocacy groups, and partners
Coordinating legislative meetings, site visits, and advocacy events
Representing the organization with government agencies and legislators
Leading internal and external communications strategy
Serving as steward of brand, messaging, and organizational voice
Overseeing employee, member, and provider newsletters
Managing digital communications and social media channels
Ideal Qualifications:
Senior leadership experience in government affairs or advocacy
Strong understanding of public policy and regulatory environments
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Experience managing organizational messaging and branding
Ability to lead strategy across multiple stakeholders
Salary: $130k - $150k/Year
