The Strategy and Policy Analyst supports development of MARCENT strategic guidance, policy analysis, and doctrine assessments in support of regional objectives. This role analyzes existing U.S. policy and strategy implications for MARCENT, develops policy recommendations and planning products for leadership, assists in drafting strategic guidance documents, and reviews doctrinal publications to align regional policy with USMC goals. With 5–10 years of policy analysis and strategy development experience, the analyst aligns MARCENT strategy with Combatant Command and Service-level strategies, develops assessments, information papers, and briefs, and contributes to planning executive-level off-sites, conferences, and presentations. By integrating strategic analysis with operational policy, the Strategy and Policy Analyst ensures MARCENT objectives remain synchronized with national and Service priorities. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Analyze existing U.S. policy and strategy implications for MARCENT.
- Develop policy recommendations and planning products for leadership.
- Assist in drafting strategic guidance documents.
- Review doctrinal publications to align regional policy with USMC goals.
- Support alignment of MARCENT strategy and policy with Combatant Command and Service-level strategies.
- Prepare assessments, information papers, and briefs for leadership decision-making.
- Plan and coordinate executive-level off-sites, conferences, and presentations.
Supplemental Duties:
- Assist in capturing lessons learned from MARCENT strategic and policy initiatives.
- Support coordination of interagency or partner-nation engagements for policy development.
- Contribute to updating SOPs and best practices for policy analysis and strategy development.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ensure strategy and policy documentation is archived according to records management standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; International Relations or Political Science preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in policy analysis or strategy development.
- Expertise in aligning MARCENT strategy and policy with Combatant Command and Service-level strategies.
- Experience developing assessments, information papers, and briefs.
- Proven ability to plan and support executive-level off-sites, conferences, and presentations.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical skills to assess policy and strategy impacts on MARCENT operations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for producing policy documents and briefs.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with senior leaders, interagency partners, and joint staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strategic planning tools.
Location:
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.
Work Environment:
Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes participation in conferences and engagements with senior leaders and interagency partners.
Physical Demands:
Primarily sedentary office work with extensive computer use. May involve travel to support strategic engagements and conferences.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
May require flexibility for executive-level events or urgent policy tasks.
License and Other Requirements:
Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).
