Role and Responsibilities

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Intern Program.  This exciting opportunity offers a paid, 10-week experience for selected senior or recently graduated students.  The program will run from June 1 to August 7. 

Eligible students will be seniors or recent graduates, possess U.S. work authorization, and be able to work full-time on a 5-day-per-week on-site schedule.  Additionally, participation in this program requires that you be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.  The application window is open until March 15, 2026; however, it may close earlier if all available roles are filled. Applications submitted after the application window or once a role is closed/projects are full will not be considered.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Affairs Intern to join our team in Washington, D.C. As an intern, you will support the development and execution of public affairs strategies, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the organization's reputation and influence in the public sphere.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support government affairs/relations activities including research, public policy projects, and communications
  • Work with the strategic communications team to pitch media, identify opportunities for storytelling
  • Identify thought-leadership, panel, and speaking engagement opportunities for Samsung leadership
  • Develop communications and marketing materials to support lines of business
  • Work with the events team to plan and execute events within the Samsung DC event space
  • Conduct research on organizations, issues, trends, case studies, federal legislative and political agendas, public policy issues, and regional events
  • Assist staff with legislative, regulatory, and consumer group issues, attend legislative hearings, and provide hearing coverage with follow-up report writing
  • Execute operational tasks through collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and stakeholders, as well as external partners

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop and/ or other common marketing-related applications will be an advantage

The hourly rate for this role is $33. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
