Legislative Specialist
The Legislative Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-lasting, and effective relationships with members of the state legislature and key staff.
The Legislative Specialist performs the following essential functions:
- Advocacy and monitoring of legislation to the school which will support institutional growth and protect educational choice.
- Develop local regional contacts and surrogates to create partnerships with local members (campus tours, townhalls, press conferences, speaking opportunities)
- Participate as a Government Relations team member for congressional legislative strategies and assist with state when needed.

- Cultivating NEW champions for Keiser University and maintaining measurable support from standing allies on State/Federal level
- Scheduling meetings with newly elected Florida members and leadership in targeted committees on State/Federal level
- Secure clinical affiliations across Florida (Orlando/Central Florida focused) to support the success of allied health programs.
- Identify through trend tracking opportunities, trends, and innovations in Florida's workforce and talent pipeline to remain current with talent and workforce demands.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in political science or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fundraising and development experience
- Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive team attitude.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
