You will lead Amazon's Public Policy work in Türkiye.
You will partner with colleagues in Legal, PR and business teams to analyze emerging policy and regulatory issues, and ensure the business is advised on how to navigate policy risks and opportunities. This will include leading work to dive deep on policy issues, assess the business impact, and build a plan to ensure the team is focused on the most important issues, has well-defined goals, and partner teams understand and support your prioritization. This will require strong collaboration skills, and an ability to triage short-term pressures while staying focused on the right long-term goals.
Amazon's culture means leaders operate at all levels and stay connected to the details and implementation of work. We also have a small public policy team in Türkiye. This means in addition to setting direction and goals for the team, you will personally own and drive the execution of the team's work so that goals are tracked and delivered. You will build proactive campaigns to deliver your goals, including developing policy positions, messaging that translates complex issues into arguments that resonate with decision-makers, and ensuring we have robust evidence to support our advocacy. You will engage externally with senior policymakers and regulators, as well as building partnerships across think tanks, academics and business groups to amplify Amazon's influence.
This position will be based in Istanbul, with regular travel to Ankara and some international travel.
