Job Summary
The Government Affairs Manager will report to the Managing Director, Government Affairs. This role will work directly with Members of the U.S. Congress and their staff to proactively promote policies that support American Electric Power (AEP) and its customers, and to defend against negatively impactful policies. The Manager will monitor and engage on legislative actions, committee hearings, congressional meetings, and other relevant activities to advance AEP’s federal policy priorities. They will coordinate with internal subject matter experts and external consultants to support advocacy efforts. The Manager will attend events associated with AEP’s political action committee and represent AEP at select trade associations and external forums. This position is based out of AEP’s Washington, DC office.Job Description

$112,869.00 - $146,730.50The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
