RedSky is seeking a CCPA Program Manager to lead our support to a Department of Defense (DoD) client’s Communication and Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA) in Tampa, Florida. This position requires a strong background in program management, public affairs operations, and personnel leadership in defense or federal environments. The ideal candidate will hold an active TS/SCI security clearance and demonstrate extensive experience managing teams in support of high-impact communication and engagement programs for DoD clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary RedSky point of contact for the CCPA contract, acting as a trusted partner to the CCPA Director, Executive Officer, and Senior Enlisted Leader.
Lead daily management and supervision of RedSky personnel supporting the CCPA mission, including specialists in media operations, media engagement, and administrative functions.
Translate CCPA communication priorities into actionable tasks, schedules, and measurable outcomes for the RedSky team.
Oversee program planning, implementation of performance metrics, risk management, and quality assurance for all contractual deliverables.
Coordinate all aspects of staffing, hiring, onboarding, and training to ensure a fully qualified, TS/SCI-cleared team.
Ensure timely, accurate, and AP-style compliant media, public affairs, and engagement products are delivered in support of CCPA objectives.
Provide surge and 24/7 shift support capabilities, coordinating with CCPA leadership during routine and crisis situations.
Monitor labor hours, workload, and contract funding; prepare and deliver regular status updates to RedSky and the DoD client.
Maintain strong coordination and collaboration with other directorates, components, and higher headquarters to facilitate integrated communication support.
Lead internal RedSky program communications to share lessons learned, best practices, and evolving requirements across the team and with stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all contract terms, security policies, client regulations, and RedSky corporate standards at all times.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, international relations, business, or a related field.
Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in public affairs, strategic communications, or related national security missions.
At least five years leading programs, projects, or interdisciplinary teams supporting DoD or federal customers.
Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
Demonstrated experience managing personnel within headquarters or federal environments.
Strong knowledge of U.S. military structure, joint operations, and operational terminology, with an emphasis on large-scale or joint/multinational functions.
Proven expertise collaborating with public affairs offices, media operations centers, and directorates that engage with national and international media.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior leaders in military and civilian contexts.
Outstanding organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with a focus on meeting concurrent deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the review, editing, and quality assurance of public-facing products.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and contemporary collaboration/task tracking tools.
Desired:
Previous support to a major Department of Defense client, combatant command, or large joint headquarters.
Prior experience as a contract or task order lead for public affairs, strategic communications, or media engagement programs.
Defense Information School (DINFOS) training—such as the Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course—or completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME).
Experience in areas relevant to the geographic or functional focus of the DoD client.
