Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Current Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance are required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including sustained concentration, extended work hours during peak periods, and working effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of Election Code, Texas Alcohol Beverage Code, Ethics Commission rules and schedules. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; One (1) year of clerical experience and typing speed of at least 50 wpm. Must have the ability to multi-task in a high stress environment. Strong interpersonal skills while supervising a large, diverse group of employees. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, county government organization and services and customer service principles. Skill or ability to: Maintain records, use word processing and spreadsheet functions, read and understand instructions, spell and use correct grammar, prioritize and schedule work to meet deadlines, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, work independently in the absence of specific instructions and establish and maintain effective working relationships with county employees and the public.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Maintain the ability to occasionally stand, walk, kneel, and bend during the shift; Reach, grip and use fine dexterity; Push and pull objects; Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees; Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds; Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing; place arms above, at or below shoulder height; Use of vision and depth perception; Talking and hearing. Generally, works indoors at a moderate noise level.
